For Hourly:

FreeUp billing periods run Wednesday through Tuesday of each week.

Wednesday is a good day for you to review everything inside your account before you are billed on Thursday.

FreeUp will charge the payment method on file for your account every Thursday and will send you an email with an invoice to the email provided on your account.  You have one week to dispute any invoice.

For Fixed Price:

For fixed pricing agreements, you will be charged upfront for the fixed price work agreed upon between you and the freelancer.  We will release the payment to the freelancer either once the project is complete or by milestones.

FreeUp currently accepts ACH, credit card, or PayPal retainer (PayPal is only for international clients).

ACH (Stripe via Plaid) - Only for clients with a valid US bank account. ACH has no fees associated.

Credit Card (Stripe) - For US and non-US clients. Your credit card on file will be charged each Thursday. The processing fee is as follows:

  • Domestic (U.S.) charges are subject to a 3.9% +$0.30 processing fee
  • International (Non-U.S.) charges are subject to a 3.9% +$0.30 processing fee

Retainer (Paypal) - For clients outside the US only. With this option, you send money upfront via PayPal to your FreeUp account. Your retainer must stay positive at all times to use the platform. We recommend sending 2-3 weeks worth of payments to avoid any payment issues. Retainers are refundable at anytime. If you send us a $1,000 retainer and spend $200 with us, you have $800 left and can get it back anytime you want. If your retainer runs out, freelancers are notified to pause work.  Please note we do not cover any conversion or processing fees:

  • Domestic (U.S.) charges are subject to a 2.9% + $0.30 processing fee
  • International (Non-U.S.) charges are subject up to a 4.4% processing fee - this is based on country of origin

All payment information submitted is kept private and secure.

Experiencing any issues?

If there are any issues with your payment method on file, you will be contacted by our Accounting team.

Likewise, if you have any billing issues/ questions you can always email Accounting@freeup.net.

Hope this helps!
