Interviewing with clients as you are introduced is a common best practice that many freelancers and clients follow when using the FreeUp Marketplace.

As you set up a time to speak with potential clients, it's best practice to get prepared and be ready for the conversation.

Just a reminder: FreeUp is a fast hiring platform.  While it is best practice to limit interviews to 10-15 minutes, it is, of course up to you if you want to extend the interview past that.

To help, we've outlined some common questions you may come across:

  1. What is your experience in the area of my project?
  2. How would you approach this project if we were to work together?
  3. How long have you been running your freelance business?
  4. Have you worked with other similar companies in my industry?
  5. How do you communicate with your clients?
  6. How much time do you have available to work each week right now?
  7. Based on the scope of this project, how long do you expect it will take to complete?
  8. What is your process for getting started with a new client?
  9. What time zone do you normally work in?
  10. Is there anything else that I'm not thinking of that I should know about you?

There may be plenty of other questions that you may be asked by clients based off the specific project requirements, but these are a great place to start.

We hope that this helps in your interviewing!
